F&Q

Thanks for getting in touch, many of the answers that you're looking for can be found here. Either type a keyword in below or scroll through. If your question has not been answered, someone will respond to your email as soon as possible.

Do I need to supply my pet's food?

Yes as it helps to avoid pets getting a bad belly from abruptly changing foods or accidentally eating something that doesn't agree with them. We are able to store raw food, so if your pet is raw fed this is no issue.

What must we bring with our pet?

The only thing that we absolutely need is their vaccination card so that we can verify they are up to date with all relevant vaccinations. These are the annual boosters, plus the kennel cough vaccination. The kennel cough vaccination must be administered at least two weeks prior to your dog's arrival. Please be aware that we absolutely cannot admit any pet that hasn't submitted a vaccination card clearly stating that they are fully vaccinated against these illnesses.

I have never left my pet before, will they be scared?

The short answer is no, 99% of dogs adapt well to their little holiday. By insisting on a meet and greet it will also mean your sausage already knows the smells and sensation of entering our home which will put them at ease. Something that we take very seriously is the emotional aspect of your dog's stay; making sure they have enough attention and affection is just as important as all of the basics. We will work with your dog's personality to put them at ease, however most owners are surprised to find that their sausage is actually having a wonderful time exploring their new surroundings and playing with our other guests!

My bitch has or my come into season during their stay, can she still board?

We cannot accept bitches that are in season. If they come into season during their stay they will need to go to be collected by your emergency contact.

Will my dog mix with any other dogs during their stay?

Yes there will be lots of socialising during your dogs stay. That said, every dog is different, so we will do whatever works for your dog and they will be supervised at all times.

Are your premises secure?

Yes, our premises are completely secure and are monitored by smart camera 24/7. At least one person will be present at all times of the day and night.

Is there a minimum age requirement?

No the only requirement is that they have received all their vaccinations.

My pet is on medication, can they still board with you?

Of course! We are familiar with most common ailments and are used to all manner of medication, from creams and eye drops to tablets and injections. You will be asked for a description of your pet's condition and their daily dosage when you arrive. All dogs that board with us must have an up to date vaccination certificate, including all annual boosters as well as the Kennel Cough vaccination.

My dog has a very specific diet such as raw food, can you accommodate this?

Yes of course, all we need are the feeding and storage instructions.

What else can we bring?

Other than that, it is up to you. You are also welcome to bring your pet's bedding, toys and other accessories, but please be aware that we cannot guarantee their safe return. We may also need to wash bedding during your pets' stay to ensure their bed is always clean and dry, and this can often cause bedding to go missing. Please ensure your pet comes with a completed copy of the owners pet stay form.

Where do the dogs sleep?

We have several separate rooms for each of our doggy guests should they prefer to sleep on their own. Rolo loves to share his bed with his new friends so it isn’t uncommon to find a pile of sausages asleep together! If you can provide as much detail as possible about your dogs sleep routine we will ensure it is adhered to so they can settle while with us.

When and how do I pay?

A 50% deposit will be collected at the time of booking confirmation (after meet & greet or trial night stay) with the remaining balance due seven days before your dogs scheduled stay with us.

These payments will be collected from you either over the phone or by payment link. Please note that in the event that you decide to collect your pet early, we are unable to refund any outstanding days.

Please note that deposits are non-refundable, even if you have to cancel your pet's stay or you arrive without the correct vaccination documentation.

Do you take un-neutered males?

Yes we do, but this is wholly dependant on your dogs temperament and the outcome of a meet and greet.

What happens if my pet falls ill while I am away?

All of our staff are fully trained and certified in canine first aid, meaning we can quickly address an emergency situation should it arise. If your pet requires veterinary attention, we will take them to your vet in the first instance. If that isn't possible, we will take them to the first available appointment at a local practice. Please note, your dog will never be left unsupervised with any treat or toy which could pose a choking hazard.

Is it only Dachshunds that can stay?

We can take other small breed dogs but only if they come as a pair with another dachshund that they live with.

I am going to miss my pet a lot. Can I contact them during their stay?

We understand how hard it can be to leave your pet while you are away, therefore we send regular updates with photos and videos to show you what your pet is up to and how much fun they are having! To request an update, please Whatsapp us.

We are also only a phone call or email away, so feel free to drop us a message during our opening ours and we will let you know all about what your pooch has been up to during their holiday!
